The region around lake Thun offers a variety of activities.
We have assembled some propositions for you below.

Crazy but true: Surrounded by mountains the Tropical House in Frutigen opens the door to an exotic world. Visit their own sturgeon farm, which produces Switzerland’s only caviar.
The Schilthorn & Piz Gloria
came to fame with James Bond, it’s Majesty’s favourite agent 007. But you will also remember it by it’s turning peak restaurant, which turns around 360° in two hours and offers a spectacular view over the alps. www.schilthorn.ch
At the Ballenberg openair museum
you’re able to relive the past of Switzerland. Every year the themes and epoch exhibited changes. This year it’s all about the past agricultural- and gardening techniques. www.ballenberg.ch
The city of Thun
has a lot to offer. Whether to learn more of its history on a sightseeing-tour, visit one of the many expositions at the castle or just to enjoy looking at the emerald Aare river:
Thun amazes you with its diversity. www.thunersee.ch
Berne, the capital, is only a half-hour train ride away. Great to shop in the historic city, a walk along the Aare or a visit to one of the many museums. And there’s so much more to do for you in our capital city. www.bern.ch
Interlaken, the city-in-between-lakes, is always worth a short-trip. A little stroll around the “Höhematte” or Jungfraupark, a hike or cable car ride to Heimwehfluh or Harder: Interlaken enchants you with its natural charm.
Lucerne with its well known Swiss museum of transport, the world-famous Kappelbridge and the water tower are breathtaking. If you’re not in a hurry, take the panorama train to Brünig and watch some wildlife while getting there. www.luzern.com
